AWANA participants meet Wednesday nights during the school year from 6:15-8:05pm
AWANA stands for: "Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed..." (2 Timothy 2:15)
The purpose of Awana Clubs is to challenge and train our youth with bible based lessons and activities on a weekly basis. Children of all ages will be able to connect and fellowship with others through study, prayer, and service. While AWANA has many activities to interest boys and girls, the main focus is the BIBLE memory work. We encourage each child to not only memorize their verses but to hide each one in their heart and use throughout their week.
Here is a break down of the different age groups and descriptions:
Puggles - Age 2 years
Cubbies - Ages 3-5 years
This is a unique and fun age for little ones to learn about GOD. The AWANA program teaches elements of non-competitive games and activities to build excitement and reinforce Story Time lessons. This is where preschoolers learn about the greatness of God's Love, His Word and about our promised Savior Jesus Christ. Cubbies will also participate in the traditional verse memorization, hanbook completition and award earning.
Sparks - Ages Kindergarten - 2nd Grade
Our Sparks have a blast every week! Each week Sparkies have an opportunity to recite memory verses and earn awards during small group time, then they move into Large Group Lesson where they are able to sing and worship through song and music. Large group is also a time for the children to gather for their age appropriate Bible lesson. Finally the night ends with Game Time. This is an awesome time for the kids to come together as they work as a team and have fun.
T&T Girls & Boys (Truth & Training) - Ages 3rd - 6th grade
This program is a bit different than other AWANA programs. It is comprised of two clubs with distinct curriculum, uniforms and awards. T&T Ultimate Adventure is for 3rd and 4th graders. T&T Ultimate Challenge is for 5th & 6th graders. The four handbooks include bible studies and activities that allow children to deepen their knowledge about God and His Word and teaches how to put that knowledge into action in everyday life. Besides this curriculum, children can complete more challenging extra-credit sections to earn special awards.
