Hope everyone had a Happy New Year. I can’t believe it is already 2008. This is going to be a great year and lots of things happening in the children’s area this year. We are in need of a lot of help when we start the new children’s area. Please pray where God wants you to be and talk to me about all the different areas we have open. We will not be able to do this without you and what a blessing it will be. What a great ministry to be a part of, and teach your children about God’s love. Julie Martin Children’s Director
Here is a game that you can play with children:
Snakes Alive! Kids love this game of tag with a twist
Materials: Masking tape and activity areaWhat to do: Using masking tape, mark off a “garden” area large enough for your kids to run around in, but small enough that they won’t have a lot of room. To keep this game safe, have kids wear play clothes and take off their shoes before the fun begins. Choose the Snake, and have him or her lie on the floor, face down. Have all the other players gather around the Snake and put their hands on the snake until you say go.” On “go” set loose the Snake, and kids can run away from it, but must stay within the garden. The Snake has to keep its belly on the floor, but it can use any other part of its body to tag kids. Each child touched by the Snake becomes a snake too. Kids will be tempted to leap over the Snake or get very close to it. But, if the kids step out of the garden, they too become Snakes. The last child standing gets to be the first Snake in a new game.
